THERMOGRAPHIC SURVEY

A formidable part of our inspection process is the use of thermographic surveys.

Using thermal surveys allows us to inspect the temperatures of equipment and cables that are within sealed units or equipment that may go undetected.
WTS introduced thermal cameras' at the time when the technology was not widely used for electrical inspections and in this time we have located many heat anomalies that may have gone undetected until such time as danger existed.

The picture opposite shows an excessive heat anomaly within the main service fuses of a large school. The heat anomaly of 145⁰ C exceeds the maximum operating temperature of 70⁰ C which may have been attributed to overloading or a loose connection. The anomaly was reported to the local network operator who rectified the issue immediately (loose connection). Thermal surveys are conducted as part of our inspection process on every project we undertake, to minimise the risk of fire.
